Food Essentials for A Balanced Diet

Whole foods like veggies, fruits, nuts, grass-fed beef, free-range poultry, pastured eggs, and fresh, not farmed seafood (preferably salmon) are a great healthy balance of what we can consume for a healthy lifestyle.

Dairy or wheat should be limited in our diet, as they can cause inflammation in the body for many of us. For some, it’s fine in moderation. If you are trying to lose weight, you will find that cutting those out will help you immensely.

Try your best to stay away from sodas. I talk about the effects of these sugary drinks in a Blog Post and why they should be avoided at all costs. Please don’t substitute diet sodas, as they can cause a whole host of other issues.

Vegan and vegetarian options are great, as long as you are getting sufficient protein. Soy, on the other hand, can be controversial, and I, for one, am not a fan. Now, there are many alternatives to soy that are preferable and will not cause as many issues with keeping our hormones in balance.

Here are some of those options:

  1. Seitan. Protein-packed meat substitute Seitan is a popular choice for many meat-free diners.
  2. Legumes. If you’re looking to replace the protein that soy delivers, legumes may be your solution.
  3. Dairy-Free Ice Cream
  4. Nuts and seeds
  5. Plant Milk
  6. Condiments
  7. Dairy-Free Cheese
  8. Jackfruit

Balance is the key to a healthy life. That includes not only diet but all the essential body, mind, and spirit connections.
