“I lost my mother earlier this year and as I’m sure anyone who has lost anyone knows, your mind (and heart) are thrown WAY out of balance and very often it’s difficult to make sense of what’s going on.
Journaling is helpful, but journaling specifically directed at expressing emotions, happy memories and lessons learnt, gives us the opportunity to put all our crazy thoughts into focus again. Yes, the pain is there, but making note of how we’ve been affected by it, the lessons we’ve learnt from it, and how we ‘choose’ to move forward, is when the healing starts.
Sandra’s 21 journal prompts has given me a way to collate my grief-based thoughts, and start to make sense of them in order to start my own healing journey.
